The law on the development of rural tourism in Russia will be submitted to the State Duma in the short term. This was announced by the UN Goodwill Ambassador, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Physical Education, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, Vyacheslav Fetisov, speaking at the II International Conference "Natural Tourism: A Global Challenge and the Discovery of Russia", which is currently taking place at the Rosa Khutor ski resort in Sochi.
“At the State Duma we are now working on a law on rural, environmental, and nature tourism. On our returning to Moscow we will try to promote the initiative. I think that we will also be able to get the support from the government. So we’ll introduce it for preliminary consideration in the State Duma and then we will promote it,’’ he said.
According to Fetisov, the law on rural tourism, which will be coordinated with the Ministries of Economic Development and Trade, Natural Resources and Environment, and Agriculture, will contribute to the development of the communities. Following this legislative initiative, “villages that are dying may be reborn,” he added.
According to Fetisov, it is necessary to develop natural territories - the reserve of the country. «Russia’s basic wealth is ecology and nature. We should support the development of natural territories. Without the ecological well-being of the environment of our country life on the planet will be problematic. In order to preserve the nature as it is and address the problems we have created we need a lot of investment, " said the deputy.
He noted that some legislative restrictions in the field of nature conservation impede the development of tourism in Russia.
