The official website of the Mayor of the capital announced that the Moscow International Landscape Art Festival "Gardens and People" will be held in the Northern Square of VDNH until August 20. Guests will be able to admire the designer gardens, attend musical performances and excursions.
This year the theme of the contest is "Indian Summer". In the nominations "Big Garden" and "Small garden" 11 projects of leading designers of Russia will be presented, five more — in the category "Garden-installation". In addition, experts will have to evaluate 12 gardens of novice specialists. The jury consisted of landscape design teachers and well-known garden designers from Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The green lecture hall will host lectures on landscape art and numerous master classes. Visitors will learn about the nuances of working in the city and private gardens, will be able to purchase books on landscape design, gardening and gardening. In addition, the guests of the festival will have excursions where they will talk about the concepts of gardens. In the evening, thanks to the illumination, the green spaces of the festival will be transformed and appear before the audience in magical lighting.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
