According to the estimates of the European Travel Commission, in 2022, tourist activity in Europe will reach 80% of the indicator of 2019.

The restoration will be mainly provided by domestic tourism. At the same time, according to experts' forecasts, the number of tourists visiting Europe until 2024 will not exceed the figures of the pre-pandemic 2019.

In 2021, the number of tourists in Europe decreased by 62% compared to 2019. The exceptions were Croatia (-37%), France (-39%) and Monaco (-40%).

From March 1, EU member states are expected to allow non-essential travel for foreigners vaccinated with EU or WHO-approved vaccines. Those who are vaccinated with other drugs will have to take a PCR test before departure. They may also be subject to short-term quarantine.
