The Caspian Tourism Cluster is a project to create recreational infrastructure on the territory adjacent to the beach line along Makhachkala, Derbent, Kaspiysk and Izerbash. It is planned that the seaside resort in Dagestan will help attract more than 200,000 additional tourists a year.

The republic has a high concentration of historical and natural monuments, mountains, a sea with a long beach line, and a warm climate. All this can be considered prerequisites for the creation of a tourist center of the region.

As expected, the Derbent region of Dagestan will become the launch pad of the cluster. Representatives of federal and local authorities expect that a large-scale modernization of the housing and communal services system, as well as the construction of treatment facilities in Derbent and other coastal cities, will improve the quality of life and recreation in the region.

As part of the project, hotels and all necessary infrastructure will be built along the coast of the Caspian Sea. To date, a roadmap has already been developed and the formation of the concept of the cluster is beginning.
