A high index of ultraviolet irradiation is recorded in the south of Russia. On Monday, the residents of the Caucasus, Krasnodar Territory and Crimea should be careful. This was announced by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
«The 5-6 index of ultraviolet radiation in the mountainous regions of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories is already observed. In Sochi, Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, the index is 3-4, and since solar energy is now active, people need to be careful at lunchtime,» Roman Vilfand said.
The UV index standard was developed by the World Health Organization, the United Nations Environment Program and the World Meteorological Organization. It indicates potential adverse health effects. For characteristics, there is a scale from 1 to 12.
Since April 12, the index of ultraviolet radiation in the south of Russia will decrease due to cooling and bad weather. The Krasnodar Territory will hold a cold snap of 10-15 degrees.
