As stated by the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, the issue was repeatedly discussed with the Minister of Transport of the country.

“I am sure that not only residents of our region, but also tourists from all over the country are waiting for a new road. Perhaps, this is the most intense section on the road to the sea, and in the summer season it is especially overloaded,” the head of Kuban said.

The new highway Dzhubga - Sochi entered the backbone network of Russian roads. The construction project is planned to be divided into stages and, first of all, to build bypasses of Sochi, Tuapse and Lazarevskoye on the busiest sections. According to preliminary calculations, construction costs may amount to 1.6 trillion rubles.
