The all-season resort "Elbrus" is preparing for the annual ecological festival "Clean Mountain-2023" - the purity festival will be held on August 27. This was announced on its website by the company "Kavkaz.RF".
"Since 2018, by the efforts of the resort team and activists, the action has turned into a large-scale festival. In four years, the volunteers have collected 60 tons of garbage in total. This year, for the first time, we expect more than 1,000 participants — we hope for everyone's contribution and, of course, for the result. This is not only the fact of clean slopes, but also the education of a culture of recreation and, in general, staying in nature," said the CEO of Kavkaz.RF" Andrey Yumshanov, quoted by the company.
The main events will be held on the central square of "Elbrus" — Azau Glade. Participants will climb free of charge on cable cars to garbage collection points, accompanied by mountain guides and rescuers.
"The guests will also enjoy an entertainment program: master classes for children, animation, a fair with pilaf cooking, performances by creative teams. The evening will end with a big open—air concert - Russian rock musician and headliner of the festival Nike Borzov, national ensembles and a cover band will perform on stage," Kavkaz.RF told.
Participation in the festival is free of charge, each volunteer will receive the necessary equipment and a branded set of the participant of "Clean Mountain – 2023" as a keepsake.
The Elbrus resort is one of the first ski centers in the country, has been operating since the 1970s. There are three stages of gondola cable cars, including the highest in the country, it is located at 3847 meters above sea level. In winter, 17 km of ski slopes are available to guests, in summer, trailrunning, trekking, horseback riding and jeep tours are popular. In total, about a thousand accommodations are available at the resort, including a high-altitude hotel at an altitude of 3,912 meters.
