According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia on its website, the Khanty-Mansiysk branch of Roslesinforga has completed work on establishing the boundaries of the Kondinsky Lakes natural park. Specialists checked 43.9 thousand hectares of the key ornithological territory, which has the international status of protected areas.

“Works on the territory of the park have been carried out since 2019. The specialists of the branch prepared a map-plan, analyzed about 50,000 coordinates and the alignment of borders with satellite images,” the message says.

The information received was transferred to Rosreestr for public access to the boundaries of the reserve's forest fund.

“The work done will allow limiting the intensive development of adjacent territories of protected areas and preserving the protective and other ecological functions of forests located in such areas, namely natural complexes, unique and standard natural areas of the water system of the Kondinsky lakes, historical and cultural objects that have ecological, historical and recreational importance,” said Pavel Ivanovsky, director of the Khanty-Mansiysk branch of Roslesinforg. His words are quoted by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.

The Kondinsky Lakes Natural Park was created to preserve the water system of the lakes Arantur, Pont-Tour, Range-Tur of the Kondinsky river basin and adjacent territories with natural landscapes, historical and archaeological cultural monuments located on them. “Thanks to the activities of the reserve, it is possible to preserve the unique population of the West Siberian river beaver, which was under the threat of extinction,” the ministry said.
