Johanne Vandersteen, a native of the Belgian city of Charleroi, came up with the idea to make a bicycle trip from Canada to Chile in 2013.

To carry out her plans, the girl made a journey lasting 15 months, having overcome 17.000 km and traveled 15 countries.

"I have always perceived a bicycle as a wonderful tool for movement and independence. I have always been interested in pushing the boundaries," the RTBF TV channel quotes Vandersteen as saying.

The girl told about her brave journey in a 52-minute documentary she shot.
