The Tourism Authority of Thailand has unveiled a new project aimed at boosting tourism by capitalizing on the growing interest of young people in religious travel.

The project, "Mu Thua Thai Pai Kub AI," is being developed in collaboration with private sector partners. The program’s goal is to combine traditional astrology with modern technology.

As part of the initiative, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered app will be created to offer tourists personalized recommendations for spiritual and cultural destinations throughout Thailand. The app is scheduled to launch later this year.

As the Authority explained, the app will tailor travel suggestions based on users' birth dates and zodiac signs. Recommended destinations will range from natural attractions and sacred temples to local cuisine and handicraft markets.

Additionally, the project plans to introduce unique Tarot decks. To this end, a competition will be held among students of Thai art universities to design the best Tarot cards reflecting the country's cultural features. The winning designs will be incorporated into the app.

The project is primarily targeted at young people - representatives of generations Y and Z, that is, those under 40.

The kingdom's tourism sector is currently working on a strategy to promote a "spiritual economy," aimed at leveraging Thailand's rich cultural heritage and belief systems to attract tourists.

The project is scheduled to launch in a pilot mode later this year. Authorities hope that with its implementation, travelers will be able to choose from a variety of spiritual and cultural offerings in Thailand through a modernized digital platform.
