Tanzania has launched black rhino tourism at the Mkomazi National Park as it prepares to receive more tourists after the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the local media.
Tanzania Daily News reports that the national park, which was designed for clear viewing of rhino is different from other national parks where rhinos hide most of the time.
African black rhinos are now almost extinct due to poaching.
The country’s minister for natural resources and tourism, Damas Ndumbaro launched the newly designed park that will attract people who like to see and learn more about African black rhinos.
He also commended the Mkomazi National Park and Tanzania National Parks management for their initiatives to attract tourists to the East African country.
Meanwhile, the headquarters of the Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA) will be relocated to Dar es Salaam from Morogoro as more than 90% of its clients are in the capital.
However, Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) and Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), will keep their headquarters in Arusha that is the gateway of tourism in the country.
