The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan has announced the introduction of a visa-free regime with Iran. Under this agreement, citizens of both countries will have the right to visit each other's territories without a visa for 30 days within a 90-day period from their first entry.

"Starting from August 10, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran on the cancellation of visas for holders of regular foreign passports will come into effect," the statement said.

Initially, the implementation of the visa-free system will be available only for travelers using air routes between Dushanbe and Tehran.

At the end of July, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon visited Iran, where he met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The leaders expressed confidence that the introduction of the visa-free regime would actively promote the development of tourism and strengthen ties between their peoples.
