Sri Lanka reopens for fully-vaccinated Indian travellers

Sri Lanka is all set to welcome tourists from India as it allows fully vaccinated travellers from India (including transit) from August 19. Non-Vaccinated or Partially Vaccinated travellers will not be allowed to enter however Indian passengers recovered from Covid-19 with one dose of vaccine will be considered as ‘fully vaccinated’.

As per the notification issued by Sri Lanka Tourism, n prior approval is required from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka and there is no minimum duration of stay as well. All facilities of the hotel would be made available to the guests and no restrictive quarantine is required. Tourists can visit approved tourist sites under the safety of a bio-bubble.

Meanwhile, guidelines to enter Sri Lanka includes travellers who have completed the recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccination post the last dose and with a negative PCR test done within 72 hours before embarkation; a valid visa; pre-paid booking at 3 Star or above category hotel; travel insurance; taking on-arrival PCR test; and airport transfers to be arranged by hotel or agent.
