Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) has reported that the number of foreign tourists visiting the country in July reached a record 10.85 million, a 7.3% increase compared to the same month in 2023. Notably, over 8 million of these tourists traveled independently without package tours.
Leading the pack of visitors in July was the United Kingdom, with over 2 million tourists. France contributed an additional 1.6 million, followed by Germany with 1.2 million. Spain was also popular among tourists from the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, the United States, and Ireland.
The report highlights the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, and Valencia as the most popular destinations for tourists in July.Andalusia and the Canary Islands followed closely behind.
In total, over 50 million foreign tourists visited Spain in the first seven months of 2024, marking a 12% increase in tourist flow.
