Sochi to hold Journey to Science

The tour guides will be employees of scientific organizations of the city. Scientists will talk about their work, demonstrate equipment and answer questions from guests. The unusual route will include the Research Institute of Medical Primatology, the Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Laura enclosure complex of the Caucasian Reserve, where an experiment is being carried out to restore the population of the Persian leopard.

- As part of the initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, which involves the creation of unique and exciting comprehensive tours of Russia for an audience of all ages, the route "Journey to Science: Sochi" was organized. Our scientific institutions became its participants. Sochi scientists will open up a fascinating world of discoveries to a wide audience, which will increase the tourism potential of the resort,” said Deputy Head of Sochi Inna Petukhova.

By 2025, within the framework of popular science tourism in 40 regions of Russia, up to 200 research and educational facilities will be available for visiting.
