To this end, specialists from the Sokolov Ecological and Biological Center, the Sochi National Park and Rosa Khutor have developed an educational program "Sochi - the territory of natural tourism". Designed for 32 hours, it offers children not only to theoretically get acquainted with the basics of environmental management, but also to solve a number of practical problems on the basis of a mountain resort under the guidance of its employees.

An important feature of the program is its focus on organizing trips to the territory of the Sochi National Park, one of the most visited in our country. The educational program "Sochi - the territory of natural tourism" helps schoolchildren take the first steps towards environmental management, perhaps for someone this area will become a future profession. It is very important that in addition to theoretical training, the children have the opportunity to receive reliable information from current professionals, - said the head of the Ecological and Biological Center Elena Malts.  The educational program "Sochi - the territory of natural tourism" was launched in 2022. During this time, more than 120 students from various Sochi schools aged 12 to 16 years have participated in it. Each theoretical course ends with a trip to the mountains, which is organized by Rosa Khutor and communication with a specialist. This time, 42 students of gymnasium No. 44 and secondary school No. 19 visited the resort.

Rosa Khutor adheres to a sustainable development strategy. It includes, among other things, caring for the younger generation. Today we see, albeit small, but concrete results of the educational program "Sochi - the territory of natural tourism". Within the course, the guys can, based on our practical experience, implement a specific project. The environmental challenges facing us as part of the task of sustainable development of year-round tourism in the national park are numerous and diverse. For example, this time schoolchildren are invited to think about ensuring the well-being and good neighborliness of people and animals in the area near the mountain lake - it is inhabited by rare amphibians, and the adjacent cascade of ponds is a hunting ground for endemic snakes. Thanks to the hands of man, this corner of nature today is a favorite with resort guests, - said Dmitry Kolosov, Director for Sustainable Development of Rosa Khutor.

The implementation of the educational program is not the only initiative of the mountain resort aimed at the professional orientation of Sochi schoolchildren. Thus, Rosa Khutor supported the competition "Green Tourism in the resort city of Sochi", within which schoolchildren offered projects aimed at practical solutions to environmental problems from the tourism industry of the city. The winners became the owners of a grant from the resort in the amount of 100 thousand rubles for the implementation of their ideas. Now the guys are working on detailing the plans in order to start implementing them and present the result in the spring of 2025.
