Specialists of the environmental organization began to monitor palm trees and offered to help the townspeople and tourists. In recent years, Sochi palm trees have been suffering from pests brought to the city - palm borer and weevil, which lead to the death of plants. The Sochi National Park was asked to report dying trees through a special form.

“A damaged palm is considered to be a completely dry palm or a palm in which the entire crown or the uppermost leaves growing on the top of the plant are damaged. Each damaged palm tree should be described in a separate answer,” the telegram channel of the Sochi National Park reports.

To determine the type of damage to the tree, users are offered a choice of two pictures that need to be compared with a dried palm tree. Also, the volunteer will have to describe the degree of damage, try to find the pest, clarify the size of the palm tree and its location. The number of completed forms is unlimited.
