The head of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, suggested organizing a new Sochi-Gelendzhik air route. He noted that the flight between the resorts should be in the same demand among tourists as flights from Sochi to Anapa.

«As a result of the timely introduction of the Sochi-Anapa route from May to September of this year 17 thousand people have already used this air route. But we cannot be satisfied with what has already been achieved, it is necessary to further develop the geography of local flights. I am sure that the Sochi-Gelendzhik flight will be in demand among local residents and guests of the region,» said the Governor of the Kuban Region, Veniamin Kondratyev.

This route will allow tourists to quickly and at affordable prices change locations within the region. According to Andrey Martirosov, CEO of Utair, due to direct intercity flights, the carrier has increased its route network and today it flies to 18 cities in 38 directions. Of these, 13 directions are new.

«Different cities of our region always give different impressions. Today, the guests of the region are somewhat limited, for example, having arrived in Sochi, Gelendzhik or Anapa, they see only one resort. Air transportation allows you to get new emotions, expand the local geography of travelers. So, in the future, they can even launch a flight to Yeisk, because this is also a wonderful resort, but due to its remoteness, it is less popular with tourists.

«Of course, various intraregional communications between large cities will be in demand, so we are ready to redirect funds from the regional budget to support new air routes,» noted Veniamin Kondratyev.
