Ski Slopes Open Early in Romania

The popular ski resort of Sinaia in Romania has opened its slopes unusually early this year. For the first time in six years, skiers have been able to hit the slopes as early as late November. This early opening is due to favorable weather conditions. Natural snowfall, combined with artificial snowmaking, has created a snow cover of 30-40 centimeters, sufficient for comfortable skiing on easier runs.

According to Maria Floricica, the director of Sinaia's urban transport, only three intermediate-level slopes are open for now. The others are still being prepared. "It's a modest opening in November," said Ms. Floricica. "Modest, but early. The snow cover is at its limit, but we will continue to work on it to open other slopes one by one as much as possible. The conditions at the moment are good."

The Sinaia ski resort is very popular in Romania. Located 125 km from Bucharest, it is considered one of the best in the Carpathians. There are 40 well-equipped kilometers of slopes of varying difficulty. In addition, the city is famous for its picturesque views, clean pine air, and excellent infrastructure. Ski lifts take skiers to the slopes directly from the center of Sinaia.

The city offers tourists not only a variety of hotels and restaurants but also unique attractions. After all, Sinaia was once the residence of the Romanian royal family. Here you can find Peles Castle, one of the finest royal palaces in Europe. Nearby is the 17th-century Orthodox Sinaia Monastery, which gave the city its name.
