As part of the annual festival "Live on Baikal", a skating rink was opened on the ice of the lake, TASS reports with reference to the chairman of the autonomous non-profit organization "Live on Baikal", the organizer of the event, Olga Dertyshnikova.
The festival is aimed at developing active winter recreation on the shore of the lake.
The key event, reportedly, will be the opening ceremony of the Year of Baikal in the Irkutsk region, which will take place in the village of Listvyanka near Irkutsk.
There are also photo zones and attractions at the festival site, in particular slides and Russian sledges.
The festival has been held for the seventh consecutive year.
