The press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan announced the launch of the "Silk Road" railway tour. This journey will be of interest to lovers of ancient cities and will allow them to visit the key sights of Turkestan and Tashkent in just five days.
A unique train embarked on its maiden voyage on November 16, following the footsteps of the Great Silk Road. Its passengers included 115 travelers. For the convenience of tourists, the tour program includes guided tours, meals, transportation in comfortable buses, and entrance tickets to attractions.
The new train consists of five modern carriages that have not been used on other routes before. The dining car is decorated in a traditional style and offers travelers a taste of national and European cuisine. Colorful interior details can also be found in other carriages. For example, the bedding in the compartments is decorated with national ornaments.
As part of the journey, tourists spent one day in the ancient Kazakh city of Turkestan. There they visited the Mausoleum of Arystan-Bab and saw the archaeological excavations of one of the oldest cities in Central Asia - Otrar. In addition, tourists visited the historical and cultural reserve-museum "Azret Sultan" and the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travelers also had the opportunity to visit the largest tourist complex in Central Asia - "Karavan-Saray".
After that, the train went to the capital of Uzbekistan. In Tashkent, tourists spent two days. During this time, they visited the Magic City amusement park, the Navruz ethnographic park, and explored the Hazrati Imam complex and the Tilya-Kori Madrasa. Travelers also visited Amir Timur Square and Independence Square, the Jasorat memorial, and the Happy Mother monument.
