Siberian Sturgeon Fry Released into Lake Baikal

Young Siberian sturgeon of the Baikal population were released into Lake Baikal in the area of the village of Turka, Pribaikalsky District, Buryatia. 

Rosprirodnadzor reported this on its website, whose representatives took part in the event.“Such events contribute to the restoration of populations of fish species that are categorized as endangered and are listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation,” the message says. 

The release was carried out jointly with the Ecology Fund,employees of Rosselkhozbank, and with the participation of state inspectors of Rosrybolovstvo.
