An international study commissioned by Experience Abu Dhabi analyzed the preferences of 7,000 children aged 5-12 regarding vacations. The results demonstrate that, beyond traditional entertainment such as ice cream and cartoons, socialization is a priority for the majority of children (90% seek new acquaintances) along with the opportunity to realize play and imaginary scenarios (85% desire role-playing activities).
The family aspect of vacation is of great importance (89% want to immerse themselves in favorite games and movies with family), as is the influence of peers (95% want to try activities they can tell their friends about). The study also revealed national peculiarities in children's preferences.
Representatives of DCT Abu Dhabi emphasize the importance of considering these factors when planning family vacations, noting Abu Dhabi's potential as a destination that meets diverse children's needs, including opportunities for role-playing and family time. The study results may be useful for tour operators and organizations focused on family tourism.
