The press service of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development has reported a significant surge in mutual tourist flows between Russia and Saudi Arabia. In the first six months of 2024, the number of Saudi Arabian tourists entering Russia has increased twelvefold compared to the same period last year.

The statement highlights that citizens of the Kingdom rank second in terms of the number of electronic visas issued for Russia. Both countries are planning to further enhance the accessibility and convenience of tourist trips.

To achieve this, the Saudi Ministry of Tourism and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development have outlined a series of practical steps to improve the quality and recognition of tourism products in both markets, strengthen investment cooperation, reduce visa barriers, and enhance transport connectivity. The key agreements will form the basis of a memorandum of cooperation, which both parties have agreed to sign by the end of 2024.
