Sand Sculpture Festival Kicks Off in St. Petersburg on August 24

The family-friendly "City on Sand" festival will take place in the 300th Anniversary Park of St. Petersburg from August 24th to September 8th. This announcement was made on the VisitPetersburg tourism portal.

"The festival is dedicated to the city's achievements in recent years, its past and present, the development of tourism, and the Year of the Family in Russia," the announcement reads.

The event will feature renowned sculptors from various cities across Russia, including Arkhangelsk, Kargopol, Izhevsk,Chelyabinsk, Rostov-on-Don, Ufa, Nev’yansk, and Yekaterinburg. The artists have already begun creating their masterpieces from sand.

Admission to the festival is free.
