Following significant attention to Arctic tourism at the recent International Arctic Forum in Murmansk, the diverse travel opportunities of Russia's Northern territories will be prominently featured at the "Travel!" International Tourism Forum. The event, taking place at VDNH in Moscow from June 10th to 15th, will showcase various routes and destinations.
President Vladimir Putin noted the growing interest in the Arctic, attracting over a million tourists annually for its landscapes, Northern Lights, fishing, dog sledding, and polar archipelago expeditions. Addressing the need for improved accessibility, he emphasized infrastructure development, including roads and air travel, leading to the extension of subsidized airfares to Arctic cities.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko expressed confidence that the "Travel!" forum will provide Arctic regions with an excellent platform to attract both domestic and international travelers, aligning with the national goal of doubling tourism by 2030. The forum's exhibition will allow visitors to explore the unique offerings and development plans of various Arctic cities.
