Russia to host the «Night of Geography»

The Night of Geography, timed to coincide with the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society and a new all-Russian holiday - the Day of the Geographer, will be held on August 18, the Russian Geographical Society reports.

Many regional branches of the Society, RGS Centers abroad and partner organizations will take part in the event.

According to the report, the main events of the "Night of Geography" will take place at the Headquarters of the Russian Geographical Society in Moscow and the regional branches of the Society.

The event will include lectures by famous scientists, travelers and photographers, intellectual quizzes, film screenings of documentary films and exhibitions.

The Russian Geographical Society also invites everyone to register their sites for the campaign and organize events as part of the "Night of Geography". Applications are accepted until August 14.
