Russia develops ecotourism and creates tourist and recreational clusters

Russia holds the All-Russian competition for the creation of tourist and recreational clusters and the development of ecotourism

Submission of applications for the All-Russian competition for the creation of tourist and recreational clusters and the development of ecotourism in Russia has been completed. The organizing committee received 115 applications from 68 subjects of the Russian Federation, 8 federal districts.

239 protected areas with a total area of ​​58 million hectares took part in the competition.

The aim of the competition is to select 10 pilot territories for the development of ecotourism by creating tourist and recreational clusters as part of the integrated development of protected areas.

The 30 best applications will be selected at a meeting of the Competition Commission on July 28. As part of the Accelerator, participants will have the opportunity to develop integrated projects of tourist and recreational clusters for the development of ecotourism and present them at the second stage of the competition. Then 10 winners will be selected. They will be announced on October 16th.

The competition was supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, and the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation. The organizer of the Competition is the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (ASI). The operator of the competition is the Agency for Strategic Development “CENTER”.
