The head of Rosprirodnadzor, Svetlana Radionova, announced a large survey of the ecological state of water bodies. According to her, the department receives reports of pollution of the Irtysh, Don, Volga, Ob, Angara rivers, as well as the coast of the Tsemess Bay of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea in Dagestan.

During the inspection, specialists will study surface water and bottom sediments for excess of the permissible content of oil products, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, ammonium ion, phosphates, phenols and other pollutants.

"We will identify all problem points that pose a threat - unauthorized discharges of sewage and waste, sunken and semi-sunken ships, objects of accumulated environmental damage, illegal constructions within the boundaries of water protection zones, the placement of cemeteries and animal burial grounds, dumps of production and consumption waste," the statement says. in the message.

Based on the results of inspections, Rosprirodnadzor will prepare an analytical report for further work on the protection of water bodies.
