Industrial tourism is rapidly gaining popularity in the Urals. According to the government of Perm Krai, the number of tourists in this segment has grown 17 times over the past five years. One of the leading attractions is a robot manufacturing enterprise. This was reported on the website of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development. Dmitry Vakhrukov, the deputy head of the ministry, recently visited this enterprise as part of a delegation’s visit to Perm Krai to assess the region's tourism potential.
“The company's team has developed special excursion routes for adults and children, allowing visitors to tour the production workshop where robots are made, as well as the assembly department and other production areas,” the statement said.
Additionally, during his visit, Vakhrukov met with representatives of the regional tourism business and visited several sites created with the support of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality.”
One of these is a new four-star hotel under construction in the center of Perm, scheduled to open in 2026. It is expected to accommodate more than 27,000 guests annually.
Another stop on the deputy minister's visit was a tourist complex aimed at active recreation enthusiasts. The modular houses of the park-hotel are designed in the style of famous global landmarks. Vakhrukov also visited several other tourist attractions in the region.
According to Rosstat, in the first 11 months of the previous year, hotels in Perm Krai hosted nearly 900,000 tourists, which is a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The region boasts 23 ski resorts, seven cruise companies, and 36 sanatoriums.
