Its purpose is the preservation, restoration and development of resorts, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for the sustainable development of tourism.

The resort fee in the Krasnodar Territory has been collected as an experiment since 2018. Its size is set by local authorities, but the amount cannot exceed 100 rubles. In Sochi, it is 50 rubles per person per day.

During the experiment, the resort's budget received almost 750 million rubles. These funds are directed to the improvement of Primorskaya embankment, parks and squares of the resort. In the future, it is planned to extend the resort fee to the federal territory of Sirius.
