The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported that a record number of Russian tourists, over 222,000,visited Thailand from June to August. This makes summer 2024 the most successful period ever for Russian tourism in the kingdom.

According to official statistics provided to ATOR by the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Moscow office, last year's summer record was surpassed by 23%. July was the most popular month, with 83,000 Russian citizens visiting Thailand. In August, 76,900 Russian tourists arrived, and in June, 62,000.

The report notes that most tourists travel to the kingdom using tour operators. In the summer months, their sales increased up to four times compared to the previous year.

Tour operators predict that the upcoming winter season will be no less successful than the summer. Companies are preparing for increased demand and have already announced extensive flight programs.

Overall, for the first eight months of this year, the number of Russian tourists to Thailand exceeded one million trips. This is 17% more than in the same period of 2023. Nevertheless, the majority of tourists to the kingdom come from China,Malaysia, India, and South Korea. Russia ranks fifth in the top five inbound markets for Thailand for the first eight months of 2024.
