The timeline for the project's implementation is currently unknown.

The construction of the Adler-Cherkessk-Kislovodsk railway has been included in the general plan according to the territorial planning scheme of the Russian Federation. At the time of developing the general plan for Sochi, this activity was not part of a more detailed construction program, which is why the construction year has not been determined, explained Elena Pavlenko, a specialist from the Research Institute of Prospective Urban Development (NIIPG) involved in transport planning for the general plan of Sochi.

Documents outlining the exact location of the proposed railway are not yet ready. Currently, only the title exists, and there is no clarity on which settlements the railway will pass through.

"The railway will definitely be routed to the mountain cluster of Sochi and will touch the village of Estosadok in Krasnaya Polyana," added Elena Pavlenko.

The general plan for Sochi was approved at the end of 2023, developed by specialists from NIIPG at the request of the resort's administration. The general plan also includes the creation of an automobile route from Dzhubga to Sochi.
