Quarantine Imposed in Sochi Due to Invasive Weed

A quarantine zone has been established in Adler district, Sochi due to the rapid spread of a dangerous weed called Bidens bipinnata (commonly known as Bidens pilosa or two-leaved tickseed).

This invasive weed, never before seen in Russia, poses a threat to the local flora. The infected area covers one hectare,with a buffer zone established around it encompassing 178 hectares. 

Movement of people, animals, and vehicles will be restricted within this zone as part of the quarantine measures. Additionally, specialists are implementing procedures to eradicate the weed.
