Putin Orders Closing of Loopholes for Ropeway Imports Bypassing Russian Manufacturers

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed relevant ministries to prevent foreign companies from bypassing domestic manufacturers when supplying equipment, particularly ropeways. He made this statement at a meeting with businessmen, responding to a request from Sergey Bachin, CEO of "Vasta Discovery."

Bachin reported on the establishment of a ropeway production plant in the Tver region, which is capable of meeting the needs of Russia and Asia. He requested support for product sales, suggesting the introduction of a rule that would oblige state resorts to primarily purchase Russian ropeways. According to him, existing laws do not fully cover "gray" imports and other circumvention methods.

Putin emphasized: "If there are loopholes that allow bypassing a Russian national producer, they must be closed, even if it's slightly more expensive. The state must pay at the initial stage for the establishment of national industry." The President added that such measures would not contradict WTO norms.
