Price monitoring showed that the rise in prices for Sochi hotels has an occasional character and is associated with dynamic pricing. Today, 111 hotels operate in the 4-5 star segment in Sochi. Many hotels in this sector have raised prices by an average of 70-90%. In a number of properties, the price per room per day is twice the price of 2019. At the same time, 40% of the total number of hotels in the 4-5 star segment are operated by international hotel operators such as: ACCOR, Radisson Hotels Group, Hyatt, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Louvre Hotels, Suites and Resorts.

"It is chain hotels that use the so-called dynamic pricing in their work, when the price of a room depends on demand. There are no mechanisms for regulating the cost of providing services by chain hotels, since most of them work under the direct management of international hotel operators or under a franchise agreement," city administration said.

The Sochi authorities have recommended to hotels to expand the list of free services. Many of them already offer guests a welcome drink upon check-in, a compliment in the room, desserts for young guests, spa services. If possible, hotels provide a free check-out until 3p.m. It should be noted that at the same time in the sector of sanatoriums and the segment of 2-3 stars, the price increase averaged 10-12%, which is comparable to the usual seasonal price fluctuations. The range of prices depends on the category of the room and the area of the accommodation facility.
