Announcing updates of lockdowns to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has said that all areas of Karon and Rawai Sub-districts in Mueang District, which are deemed high risks for the COVID-19 infection, have been sealed off from 7 April 2020, until further notice.

Phuket has also designated five hotels to facilitate stranded tourists as a result of its order for all hotels and similar establishments to be closed from 4 April 2020, until further notice. Effective from 6 April 2020, until further notice, tourists can seek accommodation at hotels in three areas at their own expense.

All hotels are subject to report guests’ details to the local administration for screening measures. Any guest deemed at risk will be isolated and transferred to a designated hospital for quarantine or treatment.
