Participants of the Save the Forest eco-campaign planted 70 million trees across Russia this year

70 million trees of various species have been planted by participants in the Save the Forest campaign since the beginning of the year. The All-Russian project was supported by all regions of Russia, each contributed to the restoration of the country's forest fund. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation on its website.
“The ceremonial planting of the “anniversary” tree took place in the Assinovsky forestry of the Chechen Republic. More than 6,000 young trees were planted here on an area of ​​2 hectares, the acacia became the 70 millionth tree,” the department noted.

On November 20, in support of the action, the inscription “Save the Forest” was lit on TV towers across the country in honor of the planting of the 70 millionth tree.
Planting trees as part of the action will last until early December in the southern regions.

The all-Russian campaign "Save the Forest" has been held as part of the national project "Ecology" since 2019. Since then, more than 150 million trees have been planted. This environmental initiative has become one of the largest in Russia. The organizers of the action are ANO "Garden of Memory", the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, as well as the Federal Forestry Agency.
