The Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, launched the All-Russian program of educational and vocational tourism for children and youth "Cool Country".

“The project will result in 100 educational travel programs formed in five thematic areas: history and patriotism, culture, ecology, science, sports and a healthy lifestyle,” the ASI website says.

The routes included in the travel programs will be recommended for inclusion in the Federal Register of School Routes of the Russian Ministry of Education and the program for subsidizing school trips as part of the social order.

According to the ASI, according to the results of a study conducted by the agency, more than 80% of the parents of students consider it necessary to supplement the main educational program with educational activities outside the school walls.

Cool Country is designed to increase the number of high-quality and affordable educational travel programs that will help schoolchildren in studying various subjects, teachers in implementing the curriculum, and also increase parent satisfaction,” said Svetlana Chupsheva, Director General of ASI, whose words are quoted in the message.

The Cool Country project involves working with Russian regions and will consist of a competition and training programs (open for everyone and closed for teams participating in the competition).

“The competition provides for the selection of 20 regional project teams, which, in a few months of work, will complete a professional development program and create 100 educational travel programs in different directions with reference to school subjects,” the message says.

The children themselves will also be involved in the work on the project. Schoolchildren will become full participants in the program: they will join regional project teams, attend training courses on the competent promotion of the region, take part in designing tour routes for travel programs and prepare creative projects.

The agency expects that the developed travel programs can be replicated in all regions of the country.
