"Over the past six months, the flow of tourists to Moscow from far abroad has increased by 70% compared to the same period in 2023. The leaders in terms of the number of visitors were China, Turkey, India, and the Asia-Pacific region," the committee quotes Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

Visitors from China made about 190 thousand visits to the Russian capital during this period, from Turkey - 35.2 thousand, and from India - 28.5 thousand trips. Approximately 260.6 thousand travelers arrived in Moscow from the Asia-Pacific region, and 17.2 thousand people - from Latin America.

"The city attracts travelers with its architectural heritage, culture, pedestrian streets and embankments, parks, numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as a diverse events program," the message says.

In addition, the tourism committee notes that there are more business travelers in Moscow, and 40% of them later return to the capital for a family vacation.

According to the department, the foreign tourist flow to Moscow for the entire last year amounted to 2.3 million people.
