The international sports and entertainment hot air balloon festival "Sky of Russia 2024" took place in August in the Spassky district of the Ryazan region. Hot air balloons adorned the sky for eight days, and 35 crews competed in flying skills, according to the regional government's website.
"Spectators from all over the country came to the 'Sky of Russia'. In total, there were more than 70,000 people - several times more than last year. The weather allowed us to hold the largest evening glow of hot air balloons in Russia. The balloons illuminated the entire festival site with their lights," said the Governor of the Ryazan Region, Pavel Malkov, as quoted on the website.
He noted that for the first time as part of the festival, the Cup of Regional Federations for Airsport was held.
Malkov promised to develop the infrastructure of the festival site in the Spassky district, including access roads and parking areas.
"Sky of Russia 2024" took place in the region from August 4 to 12.
