Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko told the head of the Russian government Mikhail Mishustin about the plans for the upcoming summer vacation season. According to forecasts, this year tourists will make more than 44 million trips across the country in three summer months, which is almost 50% of the total annual volume of 90 million.

According to operational data, the growth of domestic tourist trips for four months of this year amounted to 13%.Nevertheless, the busiest months are the summer months. According to tour operators, about 60% of tours have already been sold by June. Most often, tourists buy tours to the south of the country. Among the most popular destinations are the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, the Caucasus Mineral Waters, St. Petersburg and Moscow.

River cruises are also popular this summer. Tourists go to Dagestan, Kaliningrad Region, Kazan, Altai Republic and Altai Krai.

Chernyshenko noted that the government's coordination center monitors the prices for accommodation and transport services, and in case of deviations, promptly reacts to them.

Overall, the summer of 2024 is expected to be a busy one for the Russian tourism industry. Domestic travel is becoming increasingly popular, and there is a wide range of destinations to choose from. With careful planning, tourists can find a vacation that suits their interests and budget.
