The Norilsk Nickel company intends to create a resort on the Putorana Plateau in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as reported by the TASS news agency.
The vice-president of the company, Andrey Grachev, was quoted as saying today at the international forum "Days of the Arctic and Antarctic in Moscow" that the volume of private investment in the creation of the resort will amount to about 15 billion rubles.
According to him, the resort will be located next to Lake Melkoe.
“This is a unique park with untouched natural resources of the Arctic Circle which will be collected compactly, at an accessible distance. The volume of private investments is about 15 billion rubles,” Grachev said.
At the moment, the region authorities are creating a tourist and recreational cluster "Arctic" with an investment volume of more than 4 billion rubles. The TRC will cover the territories of Norilsk, Dudinka and the Taimyr Putorana Plateau.
According to the plans of the project, Norilsk will become the center of cultural, educational, industrial tourism, Dudinka will focus on the event, ethnographic tourism, the Putorana Plateau will become the spot for extreme and ecological tourism.
The Putorana Plateau is located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on the border with the Taimyr Peninsula. This is one of the most inaccessible regions of Russia. The Putoransky Reserve, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is situated in the territory of the plateau.
The International Arctic Forum "Days of the Arctic in Moscow" will be held from November 25 to November 27, 2020. The forum has been held annually since 2010.
