Norilsk Nickel summed up the results of a competition aimed at solving local problems and creating conditions for the sustainable development of the territory traditionally inhabited by the indigenous peoples of Taimyr. The grant fund of the competition amounted to 53 million rubles.

The winners were seven projects of family communities, three projects of NGOs, eight projects of municipal and budgetary institutions. All of them will be implemented in the next two years. These initiatives are aimed at solving a variety of social problems, including the revival of national languages, the formation of an ecological culture and the preservation of cultural memory.

Among the projects to be implemented are the construction of ethnic and sports complexes, environmental campaigns, the creation of a resource center and a family school for fishers. Thus, grants will be directed not only to the preservation of long-standing traditions, but also to the development of the territory and the emergence of new types of leisure.

The press service of Norilsk Nickel reported that the competition experts noted the high level of preparation and elaboration of most of the project applications. The organizers expect that the projects of the winners will give impetus to sustainable and positive changes in the region.
