The press service of the company said that the competition is aimed at supporting local initiatives and creating conditions for the sustainable development of the territories traditionally inhabited by the indigenous peoples of Taimyr.
16 of the received applications were sent by family communities, another six were representatives of non-profit organizations, 20 were received from state and municipal institutions of Taimyr. Applications are currently undergoing technical review.
The competition is held in four nominations, among which the nomination "Ideas of Taimyr" is the leader in terms of the number of applications. This year, for the first time, a separate nomination was allocated for representatives of public organizations of indigenous peoples “Taimyr Opportunities”.
“In this year’s competition, project teams could use the “mentor support” option - experienced experts advised applicants throughout the entire application period. A workbook “Fundamentals of social design” was developed for the participants of the competition, videos explaining the algorithm for filling out a competitive application were sent to the villages of Taimyr ", said Norilsk Nickel.
The results of the competition will be summed up on March 31, and the winners will be awarded in April - during the celebration of the Day of the reindeer herder in Taimyr. From June 1, the winners of the competition will begin the implementation of projects.
