A new tourist complex "Zatundra" will be created at the Taymyr Peninsula. The purpose of the tourist project is to develop a unique territory located near the city of Norilsk, as follows from the Agreement on Interaction and Cooperation signed by First Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory - Chairman of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Government Yuri Lapshin, Senior Vice President - Head of the Norilsk Division «Norilsk Nickel» Nikolay Utkin and General Director of «Vasta Discovery» Sergei Bachin in the presence of Governor Alexander Uss in the framework of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.
The agreement is aimed at increasing the region's competitiveness on the domestic and inbound tourism market, developing small and medium-sized businesses, creating new jobs, stimulating related sectors of the economy to implement a long-term strategy for the balanced development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Norilsk.
The Zatundra eco-project will be implemented within 5 years (2021-2026). The infrastructure for the development of ecotourism in one of the most interesting and inaccessible places in Siberia will be created on the basalt Putorana Plateau.
“The implementation of the Zatundra project can be an absolute breakthrough for the region from a tourism point of view. The Taymyr Peninsula is unique in its natural diversity and has a huge tourism potential. The implementation of our project will make it possible to make comfortable tourism available in this most interesting place on the map of Russia”, - noted the General Director of Vasta Discovery, Sergey Bachin.
"The Zatundra project will give the Norilsk residents an opportunity to choose weekend offers, or spend a week's vacation in Taimyr, for the guests of the region it will provide access to comfortable tourist infrastructure and services, unique, safe routes in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory," said the senior vice president - head of Norilsk division, Nikolay Utkin.
The tourist complex will lie outside the borders of the Putoransky reserve.
