New Zealand authorities have announced that they will reopen the country's borders to foreign travelers at the end of April 2022.

The measures taken by the authorities are considered among the most severe in the world.

New Zealand closed its borders in March 2020. All arrivals from abroad had to undergo a two-week quarantine, which was recently reduced to seven days.

In New Zealand, only 40 people out of five million people have died from coronavirus infection.
