A new ecological trail called "Forest. Man. History" will open in July in the Vodlozero National Park near the Okhtova tourist base.
"A quest has been developed for the new route: moving along the trail, the tourist will be able to collect all the necessary parts of the puzzle and receive a souvenir as a keepsake of the protected northern region," the official portal of Karelia reported.
The length of the route will exceed two kilometers. The eco-trail will be laid along a forest road - a former clearing for cable and overhead communication lines and radio lines. The equipped route will introduce tourists to the ecosystems of Vodlozero, its history and inhabitants.
New decking will appear in swampy places, more than 20 stands, a glade and a dam will be located along the entire trail, and "inhabitants" of the protected area - photo objects for tourists - will also "settle."
Volunteers are currently working on the route - they are removing rotten and old decking, clearing the territory for the future trail, the message says.
Overall, the creation of a new eco-trail in Vodlozero National Park is a great way to introduce tourists to the unique nature of this protected area. The trail is well-equipped and informative, and will undoubtedly be of interest to a wide audience.
