The press service of Kavkaz.rf has reported a significant increase in Belarusian tourists visiting the North Caucasus region. According to the Belarusian Ministry of Sports and Tourism, 9,650 citizens of the republic visited the North Caucasus Federal District between April and July. This represents a 61% increase compared to the previous year.
The surge in demand can be attributed to a special familiarization tour organized by Kavkaz.rf for Belarusian tour operators earlier this year. The tour allowed industry professionals to explore the region's main tourist attractions and develop package offers.
Travel to the Caucasus has become more convenient for Belarusian tourists. A direct flight now connects Minsk and Makhachkala, while Minsk also offers both air and rail connections to Mineralnye Vody. Bus tours are also available and have seen a 43% increase in demand.
Belarusian tourists are particularly drawn to the North Caucasus for its health resorts, skiing, and beach tourism. The region's accessibility and affordable prices make it a popular and convenient destination.
