Nearly 1,500 Tourists Have Travelled from Primorye to North Korea Since the Start of the Year

The press service of the Primorye government reported that from February to September of this year, over 1,400 tourists have traveled from Primorye to North Korea. Vladivostok is currently the only city in Russia with flights to Pyongyang. In the past seven months, more than 1,200 tourists from various regions of the country have used these flights, while approximately 157 opted for train travel, which operated from July to September.

Any resident of Russia can purchase a tour to North Korea. To do so, they need to travel to Vladivostok and contact one of the official travel companies in Primorye.

The statement noted that from November 4 to 7, 200 residents of Primorye from the "Ginseng" walking league will travel to North Korea to participate in the "Katyusha-2024" Friendship March. A special program has been prepared for them. Together with Korean hiking enthusiasts, Russian tourists will walk along the routes of the republic.

Participants will enjoy a hike on the eco-trail on Pipha Island and a boat trip to a seal haul-out. The program includes visits to the North Korea-Russia Friendship House, a trip to the port city of Rajin, and a concert at the Palace of Students.

The Friendship March will take place on October 6. Members of the Russian walking league and Korean hikers will meet at the foot of Mount Sakhyan. Together, they will traverse an 8-kilometer route along a scenic path among waterfalls and stones. At the summit, the group will be treated to a panoramic view of the city of Rajin. It is expected that at least 300 people will participate in the event.
